The Financial Basics section of Volunteer Basics (online troop leader training) covers the basics of troop finances.
Troop Bank Accounts must be registered with Council with the F36 form https://www.gssjc.org/content/dam/gssjc/documents/forms/finance/F-36RegistrationofBankAccount.pdf . See also Form F-34 for instructions to open a bank account https://www.gssjc.org/content/dam/gssjc/documents/forms/finance/F-34BankAccountInstructions.pdf
Way Out West community highly recommends the GSSJC form F-31A Checkbook Style; it is a very simple tool for both record keeping and year end reporting. See also F-31B (Income/Expense Categories), F-31C (Process), F-31D (FAQ).
